Da mein Enkel sehr musikalisch ist, schenkte ich ihm nach und nach die musikalischen klassischen Leckerbissen (CD + Buch), die oft auch wegen ihrer Berühmtheit als Musical auf Bühnen gebracht wurden. Dabei waren nicht nur diese CD + Buch "Peter und der Wolf", sondern auch "Der Nussknacker", "Karneval der Tiere" und "Die Zauberflöte".Meinem Enkel machten alle Stücke sehr viel Spaß und gleichzeitig lernt er dabei die Autoren, wie z.B. Mozart, etc., kennen.Schnelle Lieferung. Gerne mal wieder.

Sowohl Buch als auch CD sind liebevoll und kindgerecht gemacht. Unser Junior (3 1/2 Jahre) liebt das Buch. Für die CD fehlt ihm noch die Geduld und die Hörner beim Auftritt des Wolfes machen ihm Angst. Wir müssen daher noch etwas warten, bis er sich das Buch von der CD erzählen lassen kann.Leider sind die beiden schöen Produkte nicht aufeinander abgestimmt. So weicht der Text im Buch vom Text auf der CD ab. Das führt zu Irritation.Vor dem Hintergrund des Preises finde ich diese kleine Einschränkung aber absolut akzeptabel!

Die Bücher dieser Reihe sind wunderschön!!Meine Tochter liebt sie und macht jeden Abend vor dem Schlafen gehen eine CD an. Die Bilder, die Geschichte und die Musik sind traumhaft!Eine wärmste Empfehlung an alle, die etwas besonderes suchen!

Nachdem ich auch negative Rezensionen fand war ich skeptisch. Beim ersten Anhören konnte ich aber Entwarnung geben. Die Aufnahme ist einwandfrei. Der Erzähler ist gut zu Verstehen und die Geschichte wird Kindgerecht erzählt. Alles in Allem ein guter Kauf, besonders bei diesem Preis

Wir haben das Buch für unseren 3jährigen Sohn bestellt und er liebt "Peter und der Wolf", allerdings haben wir uns noch zusätzlich für die Vertonung, die wir aus Kindertage kannten, entschieden und finden die beiliegende CD nicht ganz so schön.

Durch die Geburt meines Sohnes und der Suche nach Kindermusik darüber gestolpert. Ich habe mich sofort in die Kindheit zurück gesetzt gefühlt. Wundervoll anzuhören. Die Bilder im Buch sind auch sehr schön gezeichnet. Einfach toll.

Leider passt das Buch nicht zu der beigelegten CD.Die Bilder sind ok und der Text zum Vorlesen geeignet. Für Kinder jedoch nicht, da Schriftgröße zu klein und Schriftmenge zu viel.Für den Preis bekommt man auch eine bessere Version

Eine wunderbare Musik für Kinder. Sie mit dieser Musik für Klassik zu interessieren ist letztendlich ganz einfach......Sie wird von meinem Enkel täglich gehört.

Has to be on everyone's read list

I'm a big fan of Peter Jackson, and I've probably watched the behind the scenes appendices of the LOTR, The Hobbit and King Kong more often that I've watched the actual movies. It's made me wish I were a lot younger so I could go to New Zealand and try and get a job in the movies down there. Given that, it was nice to see that I could still learn some new things from this book. However, I found the tone of the writing annoying. The author obviously thinks Peter Jackson is a genius, which is fine, but often this book comes across as a hagiography. Everything is filtered through this lens of PJ unable to do wrong, every idea, every contribution made by others, every single conceivable positive development is traced back to PJ being unerring and a complete monumental visionary. Even mistakes are twisted to be part of some greater overall genius plan. There is also a curious part involving the Hobbit where Jackson states that it was his idea to make it into three movies, but only recently it was also reported that he did NOT want to make three, but was pressured by the studio, leaving him with no time to adequately prepare for them leading to a lot of problems. That's all pretty much glossed over in this book. The author also injects himself far too often. He was apparently invited down the NZ several times during the production. This is fine, but I feel the book would be better served if it weren't done in such a biased manner. I would use the J.W. Rinzler "Making of Star Wars" books as an example of something like this but done much better. Using photos and materials from Lucasfilm's archives instead of photos of the author trying on props. A decent book, not a ton of new info if you've watched the behind the scenes material (something that I think PJ actually does do better than any other filmmaker) but worth a read. Maybe someday someone will put out a more objective telling of these stories.

Author Ian Nathan does a thorough and entertaining job of chronicling the exploits of Mr. Jackson, Mdms. Walsh and Boyens, the crew, cast, and people and country of New Zealand in bringing Mr. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings from book to screen - to LIFE! This is THE definitive insider's guide - a must read for any true fangirl or fanboy. So much so that it made me want to go back and rewatch the films and DVD extras, now with a heightened awareness of what went into making them, and observing the nuances which I may have previously overlooked. Only two negatives: 1) would have preferred fewer details about the studio wranglings, false-starts, and personalities who did or didn't help to get these films made, and more about the moviemakers, cast and process, and; 2) I'd have been fine with fewer paragraphs discussing Mr. Jackson's prior films and projects (with all due respect to him), which I haven't seen. Author Nathan knows how to spin a yarn when it comes to the machinations that went on to enable us to finally (!) experience the amazement and technical wonder that is The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Unlike Mr. J (again, apologies, but thanks for indulging the fans) I prefer the extended editions with their expansions on the characters, plot points and whimsy - spoiler alert: Eowyn is a bad cook and Aragon is 87 years old! Overall, I highly recommend this book.

This is a great book, but he really screwed up Luke Evan's name, and didn't mention Lee Pace or Thranduil at all! I loved all the in-depth stuff about the making of the Lord of the Rings, but he scurries through the making of the Hobbit and he makes it plain he doesn't think much of the second trilogy, which disappoints me.He also screwed up the name of the actor playing Bard - it's "Luke Evans," NOT Lee Evans!

I first read the LOTR books in the seventies and loved them. I personally feel that the movies are actually better than the books, and thus really enjoyed reading this in depth behind the scenes account of all that went into those films. They remain my favorites and I encourage anyone interested to go to New Zealand as I did, and experience that wonderful country for yourselves (I didn't go to hobbiton, etc, while there, just enjoyed the people and the scenery).If you really loved the films (and I rank them amongst the best films ever made), you will thoroughly enjoy this book, (which delves into everything from it's difficult beginnings, choosing the characters and locations, etc. )

If you love The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, you will thoroughly enjoy this book. However, I was amazed at the number of incomplete sentences and other grammatical errors in the book and that is why I gave it four stars instead of five. I would not expect a long-established publishing house like HarperCollins to do such a poor job of editing.

I absolutely LOVED this story! Very well written and such a remarkeable lady! And, after I read the book, I took a trip to Antaractica with National Geographic and actually met someone who knew her.

This is more than the story of this doctor's discovery of breast cancer. The book is a fascinating study of how all the men and women at the South Pole not only survive, but how they form a special society and how being at the Pole changes most of them forever.An easy and fascinating read.

I didn't expect the south pole to be so much fun! Yes, the conditions are harsh, but it's a tribute to the folks who opt to go down there, to their creativity and deep sense of community. Those few who are selected are a remarkable group, who came together with apparently no fuss to save one of their own. Fascinating.
